Funko Pop Star Wars vinyl figures are among the most popular in the vast line that seems to cover almost every corner of pop culture. With lots of movies, shows and other places to draw from, the potential for the Funko Pop Star Wars line to continue into the future is strong, as well. And while most are readily available, a handful of exclusives and limited-time options add a chase element for those wanting to have them all.
Funko Pop Star Wars figures include a mix of main characters as well as notable creatures and memorable cameos. While most focus on the live-action films, the animated subjects are also featured. Figures are numbered on the box, noting they're from the Star Wars line.
From a collectible standpoint, early figures in the original blue boxes (#1-57) and the various exclusives are the ones that carry the most value. When and where they're issued, total production runs, and the individual popularity of the character in question all contribute to going rates. Popular early editions and rare exclusives can also have problems with reprints, fakes and customs, so be careful.
Funko also officially re-released select early Funko Pop Star Wars figures. While the figures themselves are the same, they come with slightly different packaging to show that they're "From the Vault" releases. This can make for a big difference in value with collectors. Original box releases from #1 to #57 have a blue nameplate and generally carry a premium. The later Vault figure boxes are done in silver and black.
