Tintin does not sit in the Triumph due to lack of space. He is invited to hop into the caravan which was hitched up to the Triumph. Caravanning was the latest craze at that time. This Triumph Herald 1200 convertible includes all the features of a sports car. In addition to its elegance, this model was cheap to buy and maintain. It made its debut in 1959 in a 948cc engine version. The catalogue sang the praises of its turning circle, only 7.7 metres. The car with inspired Hergé.

The Triumph was a very popular model in every way, elegant, good performance, comfortable and cheap. It was sold in different models, coupe, convertible, saloon and estate. Radiator / lights : The Studios Hergé reproduces the Michelotti touches, such as the two radiator grills as well the chrome hoods of the two front lights. The bumper was also faithfully sketched with the two spurs in the shape of banana. Seats : No place for Tintin in this sports car although there is a rear seat.
